I don’t do much product shooting these days. But at one time, while I was with United Airlines, I did a lot.
Sometimes it was a little daunting to come into work because you never knew what you might be given. The most straightforward assignment could turn out to be the hardest one to shoot.
Like that Mileage Plus Card. It took me two days to shoot that thing! A white Credit Card on a white background, with very little or no shadows, no reflection, no specular highlight, and it has to be standing upright, by it’s self. I was pulling out my hair!
Maybe… that’s way I don’t have any left!
Other times, the shoot could be a blast, like the 777 Roswell shoot. UFO junky that I am.
