The Hoosier Gym is most famous for being the primary location for the 1986 basketball movie Hoosiers, starring Gene Hackman. The gym has kept the same look as it did when it was originally built by the community of Knightstown, Indiana in 1922.
Today the gym is used as a community center, and home to youth and adult basketball leagues and a variety special local events, including the yearly “Hoosier Classic” where the best high school athletes in Indiana (both boys & girls) play against each other.
At the center of Indianapolis is Monument Circle, a traffic circle at the intersection of Meridian and Market Streets, featuring the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument.
Each Christmas season, lights are strung onto the monument and lit in a ceremony known as the Circle of Lights, which attracts tens of thousands of Hoosiers to downtown Indianapolis on the day after Thanksgiving.
Reardon Auditorium on the campus of Anderson University, is the annual location for the “Bids For Kids” Auction. It’s the yearly fund raising for child abuse prevention programs serving the city of Anderson and Madison County Indiana.
I’ve been working this auction for about 11 years now, and it’s aired live for two straight days. That’s about 16 hours a day of shooting.

Victory Field, home of the Indianapolis Indians of the International League. Built in 1995 it opened it’s doors for the first time on July 11, 1996 and became the catalyst for a revitalization of downtown Indianapolis. The name “Victory Field” reflects the victory of the United States in World War II.
Victory Field is considered one of the finest facilities in all of Minor league baseball. It has been recognized as the “Best Minor League Ballpark in America” by Baseball America and Sports Illustrated.
